Award Overview
Created in 1999, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) Health Achievement Award has showcased efforts in the advancement and inclusion of LGBTQ+ health issues throughout the health profession and patient care. Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ members can nominate multiple schools, groups, individuals, or other entities that have successfully advocated for acknowledgement or equality relating to LGBTQ+ health issues. Previous award winners have been commended for their impact on health education, patient care, or improving the environment for LGBTQ+ students.
The overarching goal of this award is provide national recognition to those contributing to the advancement of LGBTQ+ community as well as showcase their models of success at their institution. It is our hope that these advancements inspire and promote equal opportunities for all members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Any school, group or individual who has achieved exemplary success in advocating for the inclusion and advancement of LGBTQ+ issues.
