James Slayton National Award for Leadership Excellence


Award Overview

The James Slayton National Award for Leadership Excellence is named in honor of an exemplary former Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ National President and Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Foundation President. One Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ leader whose exemplary achievement in leadership and management fosters the development of inspiring physician leaders will be awarded.

Eligibility Requirements

    • Any 2025-2026 National leader.

    • The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ President and Fellows are NOT eligible for consideration.

    • Nominees should be those that have exceptionally performed above and beyond the level of their position expectations to advance the organization forward.

Nomination & Selection Process

    • Nomination Process: Nominations will be accepted through October 16, 2026. Individuals may submit nominations for eligible candidates using the designated award nomination form.
    • Selection Process: Eligible nominations will be reviewed by an Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Awards Selection Committee between October 19 and October 30, 2026. Winners will be selected by the committee by November 02, 2026, with award recipients recognized by Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ following completion of the selection process.
